The Vision

Next Ministries is called by God to make disciples for Jesus Christ, equip them to do the work of ministry, and send them out into the world.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

Matthew 28:19 (ESV)

A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus commands his disciples to go out to all of the world and make other disciples. The people who are Christ’s followers are to go out and share the message of love, hope, and restoration in Christ with others.

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”

Ephesians 4:11-12 (ESV)

The purpose of different spiritual gifts in the life of the Christian Church is for the benefit of helping God’s people carry out the work of ministry to grow Christ’s church.  The leaders of the church are to help the followers of Christ be the hands and feet of Jesus in the lives of others and the world.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8 (ESV)

Christians are supposed to be discipled in the faith, equipped to do the work of ministry, and then sent out to be Christ’s witnesses in the world. The message of the love, hope, and restoration found in Christ is to be shared beyond ourselves and our circle of friends. Just as Jesus sent the disciples, God is sending you.
